Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has served upon the captain T20 and ODI team Shahid Khan Afridi the ‘show-cause notice’ over violation of discipline, Geo News reported late Tuesday. According to sources, all-rounder Afridi appeared critic of the policies of PCB and the procedure of its selection committee during televised interviews on various occasions.
During the interviews, he was shown as complaining that none consulted him before naming the players for South Africa tour, adding, had he been consulted, he would urge for selection of two or three more players for ODI side.
“Captain was selected after team’s selection”, he complained. Confirming the media reports, Afridi said though he has been served show-cause notice from PCB over speaking the truth yet he would talk to chairman Ijaz Butt over the issue of team selection. “I have been asked to show the cause which led me to criticism of the policies of PCB”, he confirmed adding that PCB wants me to remain careful in future.
