It seems like the recent successes of ‘Wanted’, ‘Dabangg’, and ‘Singham’ have inspired ‘Band Baaja Baraat’ actor Ranveer Singh, who might start working on an action film by the end of this year. Just one-film-old in the industry, Ranveer might have charmed the audiences with his boy-next-door looks in his debut flick, but the actor says that he now wants to kick up his heels with an action movie.
"I have been given DVDs to watch, so that re-makes can be made. Most of these are South Indian action flicks,” he said.
Ranveer to essay the role of a cop Singh, 26, who is currently working on his second film ‘Ricky Bahl Versus The Ladies’ with Yashraj productions, did not rule out the possibility either by saying that he’s going through the scripts and will probably say yes to one of them.
According to the actor, his second film would be complete by September, and then he will have a better idea of what he will do next. “I want to start my next film by January,” he said. Interestingly, keeping in mind the challenge before him, the actor has also started working on his physique. “I'll be honest. I have to work hard to look presentable,” he said.
Ranveer’s rakhi gift to his sister Like any other brother, Ranveer too loves his sister, however, he revealed that this was the first time he gifted something to her sister on rakhi.
Sharing how he celebrated rakhi this year, he stated, “My mother has made a small prayer area in our home, and my older sister Ritika ties me a rakhi in that part of the home every year. She`s always particular about tying a rakhi that doesn`t bleed colour and looks good on my wrist, as I wear it till it comes off on its own.”
The actor, who studied abroad and stayed away from home, said, “When I was away from home studying in the US, Ritika would send me a rakhi via post. “She’d also include small ziplock bags with rice and the tikka. She would even send me kharchi - in dollars, no less! I missed her the most during that time and especially on those days.”
Ranveer further revealed, “Since I`m her baby brother, she always spoils me to bits. Instead of me buying her a gift, she buys me a whole bunch of gifts on Raksha Bandhan like watches, laptops, mobile phones or perfumes.
“This year, for the first time ever, I`ve been able to afford buying her a present in return with my own money. I would like to get her some luxury accessories, but she is very particular so I`ll let her select whatever she likes.”
