Philadelphians were witness to a world record setting performance Friday thanks to "The Preston and Steve Show" on WMMR Radio. Philadelphia's own, "Pip Freak," a.k.a. Phillip Roomet, broke the world record for the most body piercings in a four-hour period. The record was 1,047 piercings as recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records. Pip Freak and "Papa Freak" a.k.a. Bryan O'Keef, who flew in from Mesa, Ariz. just to do the record-breaking piercings, shattered the record by inserting 1,515 needles in just under four hours. The duo started at 6:20 a.m. by inserting 22-guage surgical needles into the right arm of Pip Freak. After nearly 500 needles Papa Freak began piercing the left arm with another 500 or so needles. After getting a few rows of surgical needles in the back Pip Freak began getting pierced in his chest. Once Pip Freak started getting needles in his chest he began to feel major discomfort that was visible in his face. To finish off the record Papa Freak pierced a couple rows into the front of Pip Freak's leg. Throughout the entire attempt Pip Freak used a heating pad to stay warm and avoid further discomfort. Surprisingly Pip Freak remained in good spirits, joking during the slew of radio interviews with the Preston and Steve team. To make the attempt official Pip Freak had to keep in the needles for at least 10 minutes. He passed the time by venturing outside, with no shirt on and needles stuck all over, to smoke a cigarette.

video had to be filmed for verification. The entire time the team from Preston and Steve and some onlookers cheered on the efforts. Surprisingly Pip Freak barely bled while the needles were being inserted. There is no word on how painful the needles felt coming out.
